What have you been saying?

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue… Many things in life can cause us to fear—losing our jobs, deadly diseases, terrorist attacks and so on. When these things confront us, we tend to give in to worry and fear, and start talking about our fears. Job was no different. He constantly feared that God would punish him and his family because he kept thinking that his sons had sinned against God. He would get up early in the morning to offer burnt sacrifices, saying, “It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed God …

God Qualifies the Disqualified

Psalm 103:4 who [the Lord] redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies, Four women are mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus (see Matthew 1:1–16). Interestingly, they are not Sarah, Rebekah, Leah or Rachel, wives of the patriarchs of the Old Testament. Instead, they are Tamar, Rahab, Ruth and Bathsheba, women who had morally questionable backgrounds. Tamar resorted to deception and prostitution to produce children through her father-in-law. Yet, it was from her line, the tribe of Judah, that the Messiah came (see Genesis 38). Rahab was a Gentile and a prostitute in Jericho, …

Receive His Word of Healing by FAITH

Psalm 107:20 He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Your Bible will do you no good if you leave it on your bedside table, gathering dust. Then, you will see your healing and deliverance from every evil condition that has been sent to destroy you! The Bible says that “He sent His word …

Perhaps the storm just rages on with no let-up and you are trembling in fear. You feel that any time now, you may just cave in and go under because you cannot beat this storm. Be comforted that Jesus sees what you are going through and He always comes to where you are in your darkest hour. He did that for His disciples one stormy night on the Sea …

He will never turn back on you

Hebrews 13:5 …He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” For six whole hours, the Son of God was suspended between heaven and earth. And at the height of His suffering on the cross, He cried out in the deep darkness, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Matthew 27:45–46). For the first time, Jesus addressed His Father as “God.” The Father had forsaken the Son. As Judge of the universe, God had to turn His back on His Son, who was carrying the filth of the world’s sins, for His eyes are too …
