Rev. Ayub Chhinchani preached from John 21:1-19. His theme was ‘JESUS: The Friend of the Fallen’. As Jesus appears to His disciples after His Resurrection, let’s look what He does in the life of Peter! We see 4 things here in this passage:

1. Peter’s Failure: Before Jesus restored this fallen preacher, we see Peter in the wrong place; where he wept bitterly after denying Christ and he lost his joy and peace.

2. Peter’s Foolishness: After Resurrection, Peter must have assumed that his ministry was over. As he went back to his old life; he also dragged others with him, but had nothing to show for their efforts.

3. Peter’s Friend: Even though Peter had wandered into sin, he still hadn’t gone so far that the Lord had stopped loving him! Jesus not only loved him, he ate with him and re-commissioned him into Service.

4. Peter’s Future: What would the future hold for this restored man of God? It was one of Sacrifice; one of Service; and one of Surrender.

“What does your future hold for you?” Does it hold chastisement, misery and difficulty? Or, does it hold joy, peace, blessing and glory for the Lord? The answer all depends on what you do right now.
