Church Events in November

Pre-Christmas programs by C.E. Union (25th November)

The Christian Endeavour Union commenced its series of pre-Christmas programmes by organizing sports and games for children on 10th November. On 18th November (Sunday), they conducted the Essay Competition @ 7 pm for groups B,C,D,E. On 25th November, Memory Verse Competition was conducted for all groups. Please pray for these programs.


Prayer for Odisha (25th November)

We are having a special Prayer series for the districts of our State Odisha in both the Worship Service. Every Sunday, we are praying for one district of our State. This week, the prayer was led by our Deacon Mr. Sandeep Kumar and our Associate Pastor Rev. B.N. Satpathy. We need to pray for our State and for the people in this area that they may hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This Sunday, we prayed for Bhadrak district. Please remember our State in your prayers.


Cancer Awareness Camp (23rd November)

A Cancer awareness camp was held in the church on 23 November. Remember, Cancer awareness is the very first step in fighting this dreaded disease. This camp was organized by Church of Christ (Union Church) in collaboration with Hemalata Hospitals and Research center, Nalco square, Bhubaneswar. The camp will be held from 9:30 am till 10:30 am. It was very informative, but only a handful turned up for this precious workshop. All those who attended were blessed by the talk on cancer awareness by Dr. Chira Ranjan Khadanga. We thank Hemalata Hospitals and Research Centre for conducting this short workshop.


Hepatitis-B Awareness & Screening Camp conducted on 21st November

We thank all the worshippers who turned up for the Hepatitis-B Awareness and Screening Program conducted in our church on 21st November. It was held as a joint collaboration between our church and SUM Hospital. Eminent Gastroenterologist Dr. Manoj Sahu was present and spoke to the gathering and counselled those who needed it.

Altogether 160 blood samples were examined of which 159 tested negative. Those whose blood tested negative are now required to visit SUM Hospital’s Gastroenterology department (2nd floor) and get vaccinated free of cost any day from Monday to Saturday (except Sundays and holidays) between 10 am to 4 pm. Thank you once again to all of you.


Annual Mahila Dibas (18th November)

The Annual Mahila Dibas was observed on 18th November in the afternoon Odia Worship Service. The Service commenced @ 3:30 pm. We thank our precious mothers and sisters who presented special numbers, skits among other items. President of Mahila Samiti Ms. Sanjukta Sahu shared God’s Word on this occasion. Please keep this women’s ministry in your prayers.

We need to pray for our State and for the people in this area that they may hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This Sunday, we prayed for Kendujhar district. Please remember our State in your prayers.


Reaching every home in the city (partnering with IEHC) (18th November)

The church is partnering the India Every Home Crusade (IEHC) in launching a month-long city saturation drive when 16 evangelists of IEHC will be endeavouring to visit every house in the city. They are being supported by our church. We request you to remember them in your individual and family prayers everyday so that the gospel can reach every home in Bhubaneswar. They were dedicated and prayed for in the afternoon Odia Worship Service today.

We are having a special Prayer series for the districts of our State Odisha in both the Worship Service. Every Sunday, we are praying for one district of our State. This week, the prayer was led by our Associate Pastors Rev. Dr. Ayub Chhinchani & Rev. B.N. Satpathy. We need to pray for our State and for the people in this area that they may hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This Sunday, we prayed for Jajpur district. Please remember our State in your prayers.


‘The Fruitful Family’ Meeting (10th November)

The church organized a special meeting on 10th evening in which Bro. George Philip of Trans World Radio was the speaker. The theme was ‘family, church and mission.’ The meeting, we believe, has touched many who were present. Around 100 people attended this special evening meeting on Saturday. We thank those brothers and sisters who came. 


2nd Saturday Chain Prayer (10th November)

We thank the brothers and sisters who joined the chain prayer held in the church from 7 am to 10 am yesterday. The chain prayer is held from 7 am to 12 noon on every second Saturday of the month and we invite you to come in large numbers to pray. We have millions of reasons to thank the Lord and seek His favor.


Half-day Retreat for children by SU & CSSM (7th November)

The Scripture Union and CSSM organised a half-day retreat for children in the church on November 7, 2018. Around 120 children participated in the retreat which was of a completely different flavour. Not only were the children kept engrossed by the songs, quizzes and games, but they were taught the scripture in a way they would remember. The resource person was Pastor Zicu Jacob who was assisted by Brother Davis and two others. After the programme was completed with lunch, the children were inquiring whether it would continue post-lunch or not. Volunteers of the Youth Fellowship helped in conducting the programme. We believe the Lord has spoken to the children through this programme.


World Sunday School Day (4th November)

The World Sunday School Day was observed on 04-11-18 @ 3:30 pm in the afternoon Odia Worship Service. Our Sunday School children (from Chandrasekharpur and Kalinga Vihar fellowship too) participated in this program. They presented some wonderful skits, choreography and worship numbers. Those present were truly blessed and enjoyed the program by our precious children. Rev. Bichitrananda Satpathy shared God’s Word on this occasion. Continue to uphold our precious children in your prayers.


Prayer for Odisha (4th November)

We had a special Prayer for our State Odisha in both the Worship Services. Every Sunday, we are praying for one district of our State. Our Associate Pastors led the Prayer. We need to pray for our State and for the people in this area that they may hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This week, we prayed for Kendrapada district. Please remember this district and our State in your prayers that people may know the truth and the truth shall set them free in Jesus’ name.
