‘Watch and Pray’ by Evg. Ranjit Singh, (Prayer Week, Day 3), 3rd April, 2019
Evg. Ranjit Singh preached on the 3rd day of the Prayer Week from the Gospel of Matthew chapter 26:36-44. The theme of his message was ‘Watch and Pray’. This passage relates to the prayer that Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane before being arrested.
When we Watch and Pray, we please God. There are 3 things we see here:
1) When we watch and pray, our faith is increased and we also glorify God. When we truly release our faith, God does wonders in and through us.
2) When we watch and pray, we can have victory over temptation and sin. We all are tempted; but God gives us the strength to overcome it through fervent prayer.
3) When we watch and pray, we can resist the schemes of the devil. When we pray and wait upon the Lord; He will lift us and help us to overcome odds in life.
