Rev. Susanta Patra preached on the theme ‘Beauty of the Cross’ from Galatians 6:12-16. Paul is saying clearly here that I will boast only in the Cross of Jesus Christ. The Cross reveals to us: the character of God. His love for lost sinners; reveals to us the purpose of God. His salvation for lost sinners; reveals to us the Sacrifice of God; His payment for lost sinners; reveals to us the Glory of God. His majesty for lost sinners.

Cross has a message too: It is…Forgiveness (Lk 23:34); Assurance (Luke 23:43); Relationship (John 19:26-27). In God of the Cross, there is a relationship. Punishment (Matthew 27:46). Thirsts for us (John 19:28). Work of Salvation is finished (John 19:30). Confidence that sin could not hold Him. (Lk 23:46).

So, What is the beauty of the Cross?

1. The fountain of His blood was opened. Zech 13:1; What is in the blood? There is life. There is redemption. There is forgiveness. There is power in the blood.

2. I was made free from sins. It cannot have dominion over you. REV 1:5; is there any bondage that controls you today? Rom 8:1, Gal 5:1, 1 Cor 15:57; James 4:7. My guilt of sin: mentality; My victim from Satan: outlook; My control of self: attitude.

3. Relationship, Recovered, Re-established. Reconciliation with God is done forever. 2 Cor 5:18. This reconciliation is done with With God, man, creation & self.

What is then the Result of the Cross??? I am happy, forgiven, recognized as child of God, assured of Eternal life. Has it impacted your life today?
