Rev. Susanta Patra preached on the theme ‘Experiencing the Power of Forgiveness’ taken from Colossians 2:9-15. Why are you hiding yourself? We all come to a situation in life, where we try to hide from God. The Bible says; Come, receive your forgiveness. (Psalm 139:7-12).

Bible also says, your sin shall find you out given in Numbers 32:32. Sin is not just a mistake, not maya (illusion); it is actually in the attitude. Sin is an act. It is in the nature/attitude. The Bible says, one who sins is a slave to sin. It is committed physically, but it is a spiritual problem.

Sin is committed by a person, hence the person is responsible. Sin kills the very sensitivity to know that one is sinning. (Romans 7:15). Sin leads to the fall. We all are created in the image of God, but through our sins, we have become haters of God.

There are 5 types of Sin we commit against…1) Character of God; 2) Law of God; 3) Kingdom of God; 4) Mission of God; 5) Purpose of God. How is your life today? We should examine our lives. How long will you be in bondage???

Remember, God only can give us Forgiveness: There are 3 qualities of forgiveness: 1) God alone forgives; 2) Forgiveness requires atonement; 3) Forgiveness comes only after true repentance. Let us examine our spiritual lives today!
