Church Events in January 2019
Prayer for Odisha (27th January, 2019)
We are having special Prayer for our State Odisha in both the Worship Services. Every Sunday, we are praying for one district of our State. Our Deacon Mr. Sandeep Kumar prayed in the English Service, while our Associate Pastor Rev. Dr. Ayub Chhinchani preached in the afternoon Odia Service. We need to pray for our State and for the people in this area that they may hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This Sunday, we prayed for Jharsuguda district. Please remember this district and our State in your prayers that people may know the truth and the truth shall set them free in Jesus’ name.
CHOSEN – Youth Retreat (26th January, 2019)
The Church conducted a Youth Retreat – Chosen taken from Ephesians 1:4 on 26th January here. Rev. Songram Keshari Singh and our Associate Pastor Rev. Dr. Ayub Chhinchani were the Resource persons. We expected about 70 young people to come for this retreat as there were several other programs yesterday, but all glory to God that there were more than 120 who attended this retreat. Please continue to pray for them as they will grow spiritually everyday. Rev. Songram Singh also addressed in a Revival Meeting held the same evening.
Rev. B.N. Satpathy’s last Service @ COC (20th January, 2019)
Rev. Satpathy left the church to pursue his Ph.D. in the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas, United States. He is leaving Bhubaneswar on 21st January morning for Texas and we need to pray for him so that he can complete his higher studies and be used by the Lord for his glory. His family comprising his wife and two children will be here for the next few months before joining him in the US. Kindly remember Rev. Satpathy and his family in your prayers.

We are having special Prayer for our State Odisha in both the Worship Services. Every Sunday, we are praying for one district of our State. Our Associate Pastor Rev. Dr. Ayub Chhinchani prayed in both the Services. We need to pray for our State and for the people in this area that they may hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This Sunday, we prayed for Balangir district. Please remember this district and our State in your prayers that people may know the truth and the truth shall set them free in Jesus’ name.
DAV School Children Church Visit (18th January, 2019)
More than 200 children visited our church on 18th January from DAV School Kalinga Vihar. They were addressed by Rev. B.N. Satpathy and Mr. Sandeep Kumar. After the small service, they were given chocolates and some literature. They had their snacks in the church premises before leaving. Let us uphold these precious children in our prayers.

We are having special Prayer for our State Odisha in both the Worship Services. Every Sunday, we are praying for one district of our State. Our Associate Pastor Rev. Dr. Ayub Chhinchani prayed in both the Services. We need to pray for our State and for the people in this area that they may hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This Sunday, we prayed for Sambalpur district. Please remember this district and our State in your prayers that people may know the truth and the truth shall set them free in Jesus’ name.
Quarterly Prayer Week @ 7 pm (Mon-Sat) (7-12 January, 2019)
Please attend the 3rd day of the ongoing quarterly Prayer Week (7-12 January, 2019) @ COC (7 pm) today. We thank all the brothers and sisters who attended this 6-days. The weekly church programs for the week remained cancelled during this prayer week.
On the last day, Church Secretary Mr. Paresh K. Das shared God’s Word. Various issues were prayed for during the week. We praise God for this time of prayer. Please join in the next time it is held again. It will be held again from 1-6 April 2019.
2nd Saturday Chain Prayer from 7 am till 12 noon (12th January, 2019)
The 2nd Saturday Chain Prayer is held every month from 7 am till 12 noon. This month, it was held on 12th January. We thank those brothers and sisters who came for corporate prayer. We urge the members of the Congregation to come in large numbers and be part of this time of prayer. It will strengthen the church.
Water Baptism on 6th January, 2019
We are extremely happy to inform you that 4 young people were baptized on Sunday (6th January 2019) @ 8:30 am. They were accepted as members in the Afternoon Odia Worship Service. They are: Miss. Bipasha Das, Miss. Anisha Dey, Mrs. Rashmita Mallick and Mr. Sudipta Nayak. Please uphold them in your prayers as they start their spiritual journey.

Special Service by IEHC @ 6:30 pm (5th January, 2019)
India Every Home Crusade launched the OIKOS Initiative (a plan to reach every home of India once again with the Gospel in next 20 years) on Saturday, the 5th of January 2019 @ 6 pm in the Church. National Leaders, Rev. Suresh Mathews & Dr. Mahesh Shivanna were present on this occasion and gave encouraging talks. We request you to keep this project in your prayers.
Musical Evening held @ 6:30 pm by C.E. Union (1st January, 2019)
Like previous years, a Musical Evening was held in the church on 1st January @ 6:30 pm by the C.E. Union. It was a truly a memorable evening where many from our church sang some beautiful numbers to start the year on a high. Bro. Benjamin Das preached from God’s Word on this occasion.
New Year Worship Service (1st January, 2019)
The New Year Worship Service was held in the church on 1st January. The English Service was held @ 10 am where Associate Pastor Rev. Dr. Ayub Chhinchani preached God’s Word and the afternoon Odia Worship Service was held @ 3:30 pm where Associate Pastor Rev. B.N. Satpathy shared God’s Word. We thank both our English and Odia Choir teams for presenting special numbers on this occasion. We wish everyone a most joyous, blessed and a Christ-filled Happy New Year 2019. May you shine the Light of Christ through the year.
